Director of Professional Development
Empowered Math aims to attract and retain experienced and certified math educators to fill teacher vacancies at public, charter and private schools in the Kansas City metro area. Our founding principle is that the teacher is the driving force of student success, hence schools should focus resources on premier educators . We offer perks that a traditional teaching contract can’t, starting with higher pay. Additionally, we offer growth paths for teachers that allow them to capitalize on their expertise in and out of the classroom.
The Job
Responsible for overseeing and enhancing the ongoing education of teachers at Empowered Math
Identify areas for improvement and create plans to address skill gaps within the organization
Assess the impact and effectiveness of programs through feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics
Make adjustments and improvements based on evaluation results to enhance the overall training experience
Develop and manage the budget for professional development activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency
Continuously research innovative teaching methods to improve the effectiveness of teaching practices
The Requirements
Minimum bachelor’s degree, masters preferred
Strong understanding of instructional design
Demonstrated success in designing and implementing effective professional development programs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve organizational goals
Proficiency in data analysis to measure the impact of professional development initiatives
Current experience as a teacher or educator
Experience working in diverse educational settings
All leaders within Empowered Math are required to instruct a minimum of two math sections. This practice is founded on the belief that our leaders must maintain a presence in the classroom to guarantee that their leadership remains hands-on and relevant for our teachers.
